TYLER — A man is alleging a debt collection agency used harassing and illegal calls and that its representative used offensive language.
Obie Templin filed a complaint March 27 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Webcollex LLC doing business as CKS financial alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Texas Debt Collection Act.
Templin alleges in his complaint he incurred a Visa credit card debt due to suffering a financial hardship. He claims he began to receive automated telephone dialing system debt collection calls on his cell phone from CKS in the fall of 2019 and that the CKS representative used "offensive" and "explicit" language.
Templin seeks monetary relief, trial by jury and all other proper relief. He is represented by Marwan Daher, Alexander Taylor and Omar Sulaiman of The Sulaiman Law Group LTD in Lombard, Illinois.
