HOUSTON — A man is claiming he received negligent care from Memorial Hermann Northeast and two of its doctors alleging they failed to treat him for the bleeding in his brain.

Dumas Miles filed a complaint April 2 in the Harris County District Court against Memorial Hermann Health System doing business as Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, Dr. Dereje Desta and Dr. Sarah Naeem alleging negligence and vicarious liability.

Miles, who was 63-years old at the time, spent three days as a patient at Memorial Hermann Northeast for treatment of diabetes and a kidney injury. A few hours after being released from the hospital on July 11, 2013, Miles hit the back of his head on the concrete street and lost consciousness. He alleges that after being readmitted to Memorial Hermann Northeast he was left on blood thinner, suffered bleeding in the brain and failed to get prompt care which caused permanent neurological disability.
