SHERMAN — A woman is suing General Motors and others after the airbags in a Chevy Aveo failed to deploy during a front-end collision.

Kaitlynn Truss filed a complaint March 30 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against General Motors LLC, General Motors Holdings LLC, Autoliv ASP Inc., and IEE Sensing Inc., alleging strict products liability and negligence.

Truss was a passenger in a Chevrolet Aveo that was traveling on State Highway 11 in Whitewright on March 31, 2018 when another vehicle drove into the path of the car causing a frontal collision. She alleges the front airbag failed to deploy and that she suffered serious head, neck, chest and abdomen injuries including fractured ribs and a lacerated spleen.

Truss seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by David Wilson of Davide K. Wilson & Associates in Sherman and James Holmes of The Law Office of James Holmes PC in Henderson.
