HOUSTON — An African-American woman is claiming she faced race discrimination and retaliation after reporting sexual harassment by a patient while working at a hormone replacement/weight loss clinic.

Sharonda Simpson filed a complaint April 1 in the Harris County District Court against Synergenx Physician Services PLLC doing business as Synergenx Health and Wellness, Synergenx Health - Kingwood LLC and Synergenx Health Holdings LLC alleging violation of the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

Simpson worked for the defendants from April 23, 2017, through Sept. 11, 2018. She alleges in August of 2018, she was sexually harassed by a male patient on two separate occasions. Simpson claims after reporting the harassment, she was sent home early without reason and written up for clocking in late on several occasions while co-workers of a different race were not disciplined.

Simpson seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Jennifer Spencer, James Hunnicutt and Dimple Baca of Jackson Spencer Law PLLC in Dallas.
