HOUSTON — Oakbend Medical Center and others are facing a negligence claim by a man who suffered life-threatening complications due to gauzes being left in his voice box after sinus surgery.

James Kennon filed a complaint April 9 in the Harris County District Court against Oakbend Medical Center, Raza Pasha, M.D., and Pasha Sinus and Snoring Center and others alleging negligence.

Kennon, a 57 year-old, underwent Septoplasty surgery on Dec. 12, 2019, performed by Pasha at OakBend Medical Center in Richmond. Kennon claims that six "unmarked gauzes" were left in his voice box after the surgery which caused him to face life-threatening complications and required incubation, kidney issues and weeks of care in the ICU.

Kennon seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Malachi Daws and Judson Daws of The Daws Law Firm in Beaumont.
