LUFKIN — Big Tex Trailers is facing a suit alleging it paid female store managers less than its male managers and required the females to perform multiple job duties.

Lisa Ponder filed a complaint April 9 in the Lufkin Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Big Tex Trailer World Inc., doing business as Big Tex Trailers alleging violation of the Equal Pay Act.

Ponder began working for Big Tex Trailers at its Livingston store as an office manager in 2012. She alleges her job duties including office manager, store manager, sales as well as cutting the grass on the company's three-acre property. Ponder claims she and one other female store manager within the company were the lowest paid with her salary at $37,500 per year while male store managers were paid between $45,000 and $65,000 and did not have multiple job duties.

Ponder seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Marjorie Murphy of The Murphy Law Practice PLLC in Houston.
