HOUSTON — A man who slipped on a ramp while making a delivery to a Houston seafood restaurant and suffered injuries, including having his finger partially severed, is claiming negligence.

George Duke filed a complaint April 24 in Harris County District Court against Goode Times Restaurant LLC doing business as Goode Company Texas Seafood alleging negligence and premises liability.

Duke was delivering fish to Goode Times Restaurant on March 8, 2019. He alleges that while pushing about 250 pounds of fish up a ramp at the restaurant, he slipped on an "unknown slippery substance" on the ground causing the dolly to fall over and his hand to get caught underneath and partially severing his finger. Duke claims the defendant allowed the ramp to remain in a dangerous condition.

Duke seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Chad Pinkerton and Jorge Garay of The Pinkerton Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
