HOUSTON — An African American woman is claiming she faced discrimination and retaliation, including threats of physical violence from her supervisor while working at West Houston Medical Center.

Flo Mullings filed a complaint April 24 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Outpatient Services Holdings Inc., doing business as HCA Houston Healthcare West frequently known as West Houston Medical Center alleging violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Mullings began working for West Houston Medical Center as a post surgical unit supervisor. She alleges that she faced a hostile work environment from upper management with her direct supervisor allegedly spreading rumors about her, excluding her from work-related communications and making threats of physical violence. Mullings claims she also faced retaliation and termination after filing a complaint about the alleged discrimination. Mullings received a right to sue from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Jan. 27, 2020.

Mullings seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other proper relief. He is represented by.  Gary Martoccio of The Spielberger Law Group in Tampa, Florida.
