HOUSTON – Kevin Boodram should have known his vehicle was a hazard and that operating it could cause harm to people and property, states a lawsuit recently brought against him.

On May 11, Harris County filed suit Boodram, seeking to recover property damages he allegedly caused.

According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 10, 2013 Boodram was driving on the South Houston Parkway Toll when his vehicle overheated and stalled.

“Subsequently, the car caught on fire, partially melting the rubber pressure plate and leaving black burn marks to the right barrier wall,” the suit states. “Defendant had a duty … to ensure that the vehicle was safe to operate.”

The county claims it sustained property damage in the amount of $1,113.38.

Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan represents the county.
