HOUSTON – An alleged dog attack during a parcel delivery has resulted in a lawsuit seeking up to $1 million in damages.

Maxine Ross filed suit against Mark and Wendy Jones on May 11 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 14 the plaintiff was delivering a package for the U.S. Parcel Service to defendants’ residence in Spring. After dropping the package at the front door, the defendants’ dog ran past Mark Jones, through the open front door, barking and chasing after the Plaintiff who was walking down the front sidewalk.

“The dog approached Plaintiff at a high speed and the Plaintiff was knocked to the ground,” the suit states.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants were negligent in their failure to procure behavioral training for the dog.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for past and future medical expenses, impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement, earning capacity and loss of use of vehicle.

The Daspit Law Firm represents the plaintiff.
