HOUSTON – A personal injury lawsuit seeking more than $5 million in damages was recently brought against Burton Construction and Renegade Fire Systems.

As next of friend of Donald Deskins, Elsie Deskins filed the suit May 27 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on May 15 Donald was working at a U-Haul construction site. While waiting to enter an elevator on the first floor of the building, Donald was struck by a large pipe from the sprinkler system that had fallen from the ceiling.

Burton Construction was the general contractor on site. Renegade Fire was a subcontractor and responsible for the installation of a fire sprinkler system.

As a result of his injury, Donald has incurred medical expenses that he will continue to incur for the rest of his life, the suit states.

The suit is also seeking damages for lost wages.

The plaintiff is represented by Houston attorney Keith Hampton.
