HOUSTON – Target has been hit with a slip and fall suit seeking between $200,000 and $1,000,000 in damages.

Michael Friddell filed the suit June 16 in Harris County District Court.

According to his petition, on Sept. 29, 2018, Friddell went to the Target on Bay Area Boulevard. As he walked through the entrance of the store, he slipped on a large puddle of water that had accumulated under a ceiling leak.

The suit asserts the store had one other ceiling leak that employees had marked with caution signs. However, the leak by the entrance had no such warnings.

Friddell is accusing Target of negligently failing to remedy the dangerous condition.

He is suing for his alleged past and future medical expenses, pain, mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement and lost wages.

Houston attorney Scott Armstrong represents him.
