HOUSTON — The former vice president of sales and marketing for National Signs is alleging she was fired because of false rumors of an extra-marital affair and in retaliation for reporting gender discrimination and harassment.
Senly Fox filed a complaint June 4 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against National Signs LLC alleging violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Texas Labor Code.
Fox began working for National Signs as vice president of sales and marketing in 2013. According to her complaint, Fox claims in 2017 the National Signs' senior estimator Allen Sawyer was under investigation for allegedly spreading "a false rumor" that she was having "an extramarital affair" with the company's CEO Greg Hollenberg. Fox said throughout her employment with National Signs, she also faced harassment from the company's co-owner and vice president of production and his son. Fox also claims in her suit Sawyer "mistreated" female workers and he was terminated from National Signs in 2018 then rehired. Fox was terminated on March 9, 2018, and alleges she was fired due to the false rumors of an affair and in retaliation for reporting her superiors' "sexist, harassing and discriminatory behavior."
Fox seeks monetary relief of approximately $450,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Attorney H. Julian Frachtman in Houston.
