Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office is neither confirming nor denying an investigation of officials with the FBI, Department of Justice, and Texas State Securities Board in relation to search warrants executed in Austin last August.
An investigation is believed to have been referred in the past few weeks to the Office of Attorney General by the Travis County District Attorney, Margaret Moore.
According to information obtained by the Record, the investigation relates to possible improprieties with search warrants used by the agents to raid the home and downtown Austin offices of businessman Nate Paul on Aug.14, 2019. The raids took place at Paul’s World Class Holdings Office, his residence, and World Class Server Room at a third location.
No charges have been brought as a result of the raids, and no public statements have been provided about the purpose or results of the raids.
A statement to the Record from Paxton's office reads: "Per long-standing OAG policy, we cannot confirm, deny, or comment on potential or pending investigations."
