HOUSTON – Radio personality Suzi Hanks is suing Cox Radio, alleging she was subjected to a hostile work environment during her time on the Dean & Rog Show.

Hanks had been with Cox Media since 2009 but departed from the show last February when the company opted not to renew her contract.

In her lawsuit, Hanks claims she endured a hostile work environment and was sexually harassed by her radio co-host, Roger Beaty.

“The incidents of sexual harassment committed by Roger consisted of viewing pornography on his work computer while in his shared office space with Hanks, subjecting her to offensive content,” the suit states. “On top of the pornography, Roger would constantly harass and verbally abuse Hanks during her on-air segments.”

Hanks says she reported Beaty’s porn watching but no action was ever taken to make her “feel safe and comfortable in the office.”

She also claims Beaty’s verbal abuse caused her “deep emotional stress,” but nothing was ever done despite complaining to supervisors.

Around three months after making the complaints, Cox Radio informed Hanks that her yearly contract would not be renewed.

Hanks claims her employment was terminated in retaliation for reporting the alleged harassment.

She is accusing Cox Radio for negligent hiring, training and supervision.

Hanks is suing for compensatory and punitive damages.

Houston attorney Albert Van Huff represents her.
