HOUSTON — A former speciality sand company contractor worker is suing the company after allegedly being struck by a front end loader at a job site.

Jimmie Bluntson filed a complaint Nov. 16 in the Harris County District Court against Speciality Sand Company and Sam Meitzen Cattle-Trucking alleging negligence.

Bluntson alleges in his complaint that on July 16, 2020, he suffered "on the job injuries" while employed by Sam Meitzen Cattle-Trucking. He alleges that while he was driving a dump truck, he was "violently" struck by a front end loader while at a work site.

Bluntson claims he suffered injuries to his shoulder, knee, hand, head, neck, back and "general body" and has incurred medical treatment expenses as a result of those injuries. He further claims the defendants' knew or should have known that he would sustain injuries due to the "improper supervision" at the site.

Bluntson also claims the defendants failed to properly train him and his co-workers regarding safe loading and hauling of materials and that they failed to be a "reasonable and prudent employer."

Blunston seeks monetary relief between $500 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Jeff Musslewhite and Lori Brown of Brown & Musslewhite LLP in Houston and Ralph Manginello of The Manginello Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
