Man alleges cargo crane grabbed his vehicle, sues Houston Terminal for $1M plus

Lawsuits

HOUSTON – A local man is alleging a Houston Terminal crane grabbed his vehicle and hoisted it in the air, causing it to break free and fall to the ground.

Seeking more than $1 million in damages, Limus Jackson filed suit against the Port of Houston Authority on Jan. 5 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 2 Jackson was delivering a cargo container to the port when a crane attempted to lift the container and latched on to his vehicle, lifting it into the air.

“Eventually the vehicle broke free from the crane and fell to the ground,” the suit states. “As a result, Plaintiff suffered serious injuries.”

Jackson is accusing the port of negligently failing to have proper procedures in place for unloading cargo.

He is suing for his past and future medical expenses, pain, impairment and loss of earnings.

Houston attorney Scott Armstrong represents him.
