Community Bank sues David Dewhurst for defaulting on $3.5 million loan

HOUSTON – Community Bank of Texas is suing former Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, alleging he defaulted on a loan of $3.5 million.

The suit was filed Jan. 12 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, the David Dewhurst Committee executed a promissory note of $3.5 million. As of Oct. 20, the outstanding balance is $3.5 million, plus interest of $162,555.56 and late fees of $1,567.71.

The bank is suing to recover the loan amount, interest and attorney's fees.
