City of Houston hit with $1M slip & fall lawsuit

HOUSTON – A woman walking from an airport bathroom to Peet’s Coffee slipped and fell, injuring herself.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Belinda Stewart filed suit against the city of Houston and Peet’s Coffee on Feb. 3 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Aug. 29, 2019, Stewart was walking from the bathrooms to Peet’s Coffee at Hobby Airport when she slipped on water.

Stewart is accusing the defendants of negligently failing to correct the unreasonably dangerous condition.

She is suing for her medical expenses, pain, mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement and loss of enjoyment of life.
