BEAUMONT – Area attorney Brent Coon is reportedly teaming up with a Houston law firm to file lawsuits against energy providers over the power loss that occurred during Winter Storm Uri.
According to 6KFDM, Brent Coon & Associated and Robins Cloud (two law firms specializing in toxic torts) are taking legal action on behalf of thousands of customers who lost power as a result of the grid failure that affected millions of Texans across the state.
The article states the firms think the litigation will be the largest ever pursued in Texas and that why will seek to consolidate the cases.
As previously reported, some believe the Texas power failure may result in the next BP oil spill for trial lawyers.
Several Uri suits seeking millions in damages have already been filed. The suits primarily target ERCOT and local power companies.
A $1 billion class action against Griddy for price gouging has also been filed.
