HOUSTON – A lawsuit alleging a Mack Truck driver caused an automobile collision has been brought against DG Logistics and Great Dane.

Jalen Washington filed the suit in Harris County District Court, also naming Johnathan Smith as a defendant.

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 28, 2021, Washington was traveling eastbound on US Hwy 84 in Franklin County, Mississippi. Smith was operating a 2021 Mack Truck provided by DG Logistics. The truck was pulling a trailer manufactured leased by Great Dane.

“Defendant Smith traveled through the intersection of US Hwy 84 and Hwy 33, and entirely failed to comply with traffic signs,” the suit states. “Defendant Smith failed to ensure US Hwy 84 was clear, and instead drove into the eastbound lanes of US Hwy 84, crossing directly into Washington’s lane. This caused a violent impact, and ultimately caused Plaintiff to be transported to the hospital.

“As a result of this incident, Plaintiff suffered severe injuries and now brings suit to recover for his damages.”

Washington is represented by attorney Andrew Dao of Daly & Black.
