HOUSTON — A Harris County man is claiming breach of warranty regarding his 2019 leased Land Rover that has numerous defects that are unrepairable.

Nuno Miguel Chaves De Sousa filed a complaint May 17 in Harris County District Court against Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC alleging breach of warranty and breach of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

According to his complaint, the plaintiff leased a new 2019 Land Rover Discovery on March 1, 2019, which was covered under a four year/50,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and four year/50,000 powertrain warranty.

He claims that shortly after leasing the vehicle, it had to be returned to the authorized dealer for repair attempts due to numerous defects including water coming in from the overhead control panel, panel lights illuminating repeatedly, a windshield leak and the alarm system repeatedly engaging.

The plaintiff alleges that despite numerous repair attempts and being out of service for 167 days, the vehicle's defects still remain.

The plaintiff seeks $100,000 or less and all other just relief. He is represented by Adam Mott of The Law Offices of Jason S. Hegedus PLLC in Houston.
