HOUSTON — A customer at the Hong Kong Food Market in Houston claims he slipped on a pool of water near the floral section and suffered injuries.
Xin Thi Le filed a complaint July 2 in Harris County District Court against B&B Corner Corporation, B&B Corner Corporation doing business a Hong Kong Food Market #4 and B&B Corner Corporation doing business as Hong Kong International Food Market alleging premises liability and negligence.
Le was at the Hong Kong Food Market on Bellaire Boulevard in Houston on July 5, 2019, according to his complaint. He alleges that while at the market, he slipped in water that "had congregated on the floor in the floral section" and suffered injuries including aggravation of his prior injuries and required medical care. Le also alleges he suffered impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish and loss of earnings as a result of his fall.
He further claims that prior to his fall, the defendants' manager and/or other employees "discussed the presence of the dangerous condition" in his presence. Le also claims the defendants failed to keep the area of the market "safe for pedestrian traffic" and did not warn of the dangerous condition.
Le seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by David Mestemaker, Norman Straub and Jonathan Zumwalt of Mestemaker, Straub & Zumwalt in Houston.
