HOUSTON — The Byran Museum in Galveston is facing a suit after a woman tripped and fell over an unmarked parking curb in their parking lot and suffered serious injuries.

Tina Burrow and Shane Burrow filed a complaint Aug. 18 in Harris County District Court against Bryan Texana Foundation doing business as The Bryan Museum alleging premises liability.

The plaintiffs allege in their suit that Tina Burrow was at the defendant's premises in Galveston on June 18, 2020. They claim as she walked through the parking lot, Burrow tripped and fell over an unmarked curb and suffered serious injuries.

The plaintiffs allege the defendant knew or should have known that the unmarked curb in the marking lot was not safe and created an unreasonable risk of harm. They also claim the defendant failed to have any warnings or markings for the dangerous condition and that as a result, Tina Burrow suffered impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish and past and future loss of earning capacity and incurred medical expenses.

The Burrows seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Joseph Jones and Kelli McDonald of Sloan, Hatcher, Perry, Runge, Robertson, Smith & Jones in Houston.
