Man allegedly assaulted by Houston fitness club employee sues for $1M plus

HOUSTON — A man alleges he was assaulted and battered by an employee at a Houston fitness club. 

Jeremy Collier filed a complaint Sept. 13 in Harris County District Court against Sevan Holdings LLC doing business as Planet Fitness alleging negligence and premises liability. 

According to his suit, Collier was at Sevan's Fitness club on Cypress Creek Parkway in Houston on March 18, 2020. He claims that he was assaulted and battered by an employee and suffered severe injuries. 

Collier alleges as a result of the assault, he suffered physical impairment, disfigurement, pain, lost wages and incurred treatment for medical care and treatment. He claims the defendant was negligent for failing to protect him and other patrons from unreasonable risk or harm and failed to ensure its premises was reasonably safe. Collier also claims the defendant failed to implement safety and health policies and procedures or have adequate security on their premises.

Collier seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Brent Cordell and Antone Peterson of Smith & Hassler in Houston.
