HOUSTON — A woman who slipped on water dripping from the ceiling at the Baybrook Mall in Friendswood and suffered injuries is claiming negligence.

Savannah Kennerson filed a complaint Sept. 13 in Harris County District Court against Brookfield Properties Retail Inc., doing business as Baybrook Mall alleging negligence.

Kennerson was at the Baybrook Mall in Friendswood on Oct. 9, 2020, according to her suit. She alleges that as she was walking on the property, she slipped "on a puddle of liquid" that appeared to be water dripping from the ceiling and fell to the ground. Kennerson claims as a result of the fall, she suffered serious injuries including impairment and disfigurement. Kennerson alleges the defendant's negligence for failing to maintain its premises including the floor, ceiling and walkways and failed to inspect its premises. She also alleges the defendants were negligent for not warning of the dangerous condition or correcting the dangerous condition.
