HOUSTON — A grandmother and her granddaughter claim they slipped on a just-mopped floor at a Houston nail salon and suffered injuries.

Dian Girard Johns and Grace Johns filed a complaint Sept. 23 in Harris County District Court against Luss Life LLC, Mos Interests LLC, TRA Mi Pham and Suong Thi Nguyen alleging negligence and premises liability.

The plaintiffs allege in their complaint that they were at Signature Nails on FM 1960 Road in Houston on Oct. 6, 2019. They claim that they had just received pedicures and were wearing disposable footwear as they were leaving the salon when they both slipped on the wet, slippery, just mopped floor.

The plaintiffs allege that as a result of slipping on the wet floor, they suffered injuries and incurred medical expenses. They claim the defendants' negligence for failing to maintain their property in a reasonably safe condition and did not place wet floor signs in the area to alert customers of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiffs further claim the defendants were negligent for failing to wait until customers had left the premises before washing the floors.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Claude Davis, III of Davis & Newsome PC in Houston.
