HOUSTON — A restaurant in Harris County is facing a negligence and premises liability claim after a customer slipped on a substance and suffered multiple injuries.

Ana Mariam Andrade filed a complaint Oct. 4 in Harris County District Court against Carbonero Restaurant Inc., and Carbonero Enterprises Inc., alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to her complaint, Andrade was at the El Carbonero Restaurant on Veterans Memorial in Harris County on Sept. 26, 2021. She claims that she slipped and fell on a "slippery substance" and suffered a "distal radius and ulna fracture. Andrade alleges the defendants failed to "guard against" the hazard on their premises or warn of the dangerous condition.

She also alleges El Carbonero did not make necessary safety inspections of the premises. Andrade further alleges as a result of the fall she also suffered pain, mental anguish, emotional distress, impairment, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical and healthcare expenses.

Andrade seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by J. Moises Cedillos of The Cedillos Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
