HOUSTON — A customer at a Sellers Bros., grocery store who tripped over wires that were left on the floor and suffered injuries is claiming the store's negligence.

Christine Vazquez filed a complaint Oct. 18 in Harris County District Court against Sellers Bros. Inc., alleging negligence.

Vazquez alleges that while at the defendant's store on East Edgebrook Drive in Houston on Sept. 23, 2021, she tripped and fell "hard" due to wires on the floor. She claims as a result of the fall, she suffered multiple injuries, impairment, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

Vazquez alleges Sellers' negligence for failing to maintain its premises including the floors and walkways and failed to inspect the premises where dangerous condition existed.

She claims that the defendants did not warn of the dangerous condition and failed to correct the hazard.

Vazquez seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Nathan Surprise of The Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
