HOUSTON — A woman claims she slipped on pooled water in the restroom of a Katy restaurant and suffered serious injuries.

Chasity Reifel filed a complaint Nov. 16 in Harris County Disrict Court against Fish City Grill Licensing LP alleging negligence.

Reifel was at the Fish City Grill's restaurant and bar on Cinco Ranch Boulevard in Katy on Aug. 16, 2021, according to her complaint. She alleges that as she used the restroom, she stepped in pooling water and fell and suffered serious injury to her knee and other parts of her body.

Reifel claims in her suit that the restaurant employees "started closing procedure early" and dumped water onto the floor which ran into the women's restroom. She further claims Fish City Grill was negligent in maintaining their premises in a reasonably safe manner and had "actual or constructive knowledge" of the condition on the floor. Reifel alleges the restaurant also failed to warn of the dangerous condition or supervise its employees who began closing procedures while the restaurant was still open.

Reifel seeks monetary relief of more than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Scott Brann of Brann Sullivan Trial Lawyers PLLC in Houston.
