Husch Blackwell issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.

Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that Rufino Gaytán III has been elected to membership in the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation (TBF).

Gaytán, senior counsel in the firm’s Houston office, represents clients in labor and employment matters and during the COVID-19 pandemic has helped employers navigate quickly changing federal, state and local employment laws. He also has extensive experience representing employers before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and litigating labor matters before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

The Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the nation. Fellows of the Foundation are selected for their outstanding professional achievements and their demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the justice system throughout the state of Texas. Selection as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation is restricted to members of the State Bar of Texas; each year, one-third of one percent of Texas attorneys are invited to become Fellows. Once selected, nominees must be elected by the TBF Board of Trustees. Membership has grown from 255 Charter Members in 1965 to more than 10,000 Fellows throughout Texas today.

“Gaytán’s election is a mark of distinction and recognition of his contributions to the legal profession," noted TBF in a news release.
