HOUSTON — A man alleges his Chevrolet Volt's defective brake sensors causes the vehicle to suddenly stop while driving.
Matthew Vincent Simonelli filed a complaint Dec. 15 in Harris County District Court against General Motors LLC alleging breach of warranty and other claims.
According to Simonelli's complaint, he purchased a 2018 Chevrolet Volt from an authorized dealership on Dec. 6, 2018. He claims the vehicle included a three year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty.
Simonelli alleges that shortly after purchasing the Chevy Volt, he noticed several defects including a faulty battery module, the battery not being able to charge as well an anti-lock brake sensor defects that caused the vehicle to suddenly stop while driving and then launch forward.
He further alleges that despite repeated repairs made to the vehicle, the defects still remain and that GM has failed to honor the terms of the warranty for the vehicle.
Simonelli seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Adam Mott of The Law Offices of Jason S. Hegedus PLLC in Houston.
