HOUSTON — A worker at an industrial site in Houston is alleging an improperly installed saw blade caused him to sever his finger.

Raul Torres filed a complaint Feb. 7 in Harris County District Court against Flores Commercial Construction LLC and Classic Drywall Company alleging negligence.

Torres, according to his complaint, was working on framing an elevator shaft at an industrial job site on West Dallas in Houston on May 22, 2021. He alleges that as he was cutting a sheet of metal, the saw blade, which was improperly installed by the defendant, came loose and caused his index finger to be severed.

He alleges the defendant's negligence for failing to install the right size blade, failure to properly train its employees and failing to have an adequate safety program or properly supervise its employees. Torres also alleges the defendant's negligence in hiring its employees and it's failure to comply with OSHA and other regulations.

Torres seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Pavel Savinov and Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh in Houston.
