HOUSTON — An HVAC contractor is claiming breach of contract and that he is owed $100,000 in commissions from his former employer.

Christopher Reed filed a complaint March 10 in Harris County District Court against Climate Pros LLC alleging breach of contract and other claims.

Reed, according to his complaint, began working as a HVAC contractor for Climate Pros in November of 2020. He claims he was paid a salary with an agreement to be paid commissions on all HVAC contracts "subject to 'qualifications and conditions'" but was never given any documentation or directives regarding limits to the commissions. Reed alleges he "repeatedly" asked to be paid his commissions and was only paid a one time payment of $10,000 out of approximately $100,000 he is owed in commissions.

He further alleges he is owed for vacation pay and other benefits which he never received before being terminated in October of 2021. Reed claims Climate Pros failure to compensate him for his earned commissions constitutes breach of contract.

Reed seeks monetary relief of at least $100,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Michael Orlando and Rhonda Bennetsen of Orlando & Orlando LLP in Houston.
