HOUSTON – A woman claims a restaurant failed to warn of a slippery, just mopped floor which caused her fall and injuries.

Blanca Cuadra filed a complaint April 4 in Harris County District Court against Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet, Inc., alleging negligence.

Cuadra was at Dimassi's restaurant on April 27, 2021, according to her complaint. She alleges that while inside the restaurant, she slipped on "liquid" on the floor, lost her balance, fell to the ground and suffered injuries. Cuadra claims a restaurant employee admitted that they were aware the floor, which had been mopped earlier was wet.

She further claims the defendant's negligence for failing to warn of the dangerous condition, failing to keep the restaurant floor in a safe condition and free from slippery substances and failing to inspect the premises. She also claims the defendant did not take reasonable measures to safeguard its customers or put up wet floor signs in the area. Cuadra alleges she also suffered lost wages and incurred medical treatment expenses as a result of her slip and fall.

Cuadra seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Pavel "Paul" Savinov and Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh of The Huynh Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
