Woman alleges defective chair at Greyhound station caused her fall

Lawsuits

HOUSTON — A woman alleges a defective chair at a Greyhound station in Houston caused her fall and injuries.

Angela Howard filed a complaint May 17 in Harris County District Court against Greyhound LLC and FirstGroup America alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to her suit, Howard was in the Greyhound station on June 1, 2020, while traveling from Houston to New Orleans. She alleges that a defective chair caused her to fall and suffer injuries. Howard claims Greyhound's negligence for providing a defective chair, failing to warn of the dangerous condition and for not eliminating or correcting the hazard.

She further claims Greyhound does not have policies and procedures in place to instruct employees on making its premises safe and that Greyhound failed to properly supervise its employees and premises. Howard alleges that as a result of her fall, she suffered pain, aggravation of prior injuries, impairment, lost wages, mental anguish and incurred medical care expenses.

Howard seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Brandon Kinard, Abraham Garcia and Carlos Saldana of The KGS Law Group in Houston.
