HOUSTON — A patron alleges a bar's doorman used excessive force and assaulted her while attempting to escort her off the premises.

Brianna Henderson filed a complaint June 30 in Harris County District Court against Lola's Depot Inc., alleging assault, negligence and other claims.

Henderson alleges in her complaint that she was "slammed to the ground and punched in the face by a doorman at Lola's Depot bar on June 3, 2022. Specifically, Henderson alleges she and her friends were asked to leave the bar for having a "monster energy drink" and that after she stepped outside to wait for her friends, the doorman pushed her to the ground and punched her in the mouth.

She further alleges that her friends called 911 after the attack and that the doorman fled the scene prior to the police arriving. Henderson claims the defendant has refused to identify the doorman or cooperate with the investigation. She alleges that as a result of the attack, she suffered a fractured ankle which required surgery, a busted lip and cuts and bruises. Henderson claims the defendant's negligent in its hiring, supervising and training and that its managers and owners directed and encouraged its employee to use unreasonable force which resulted in assault. She also claims as a result of the attack, she has suffered lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

Henderson seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Jason Gibson, Casey Gibson and Lindsey Ott of The Gibson Law Firm in Houston.
