HOUSTON —  A woman alleges she slipped into an open hole in the parking lot of a restaurant in Round Rock and suffered injuries.

Venus Kiesel filed a complaint Oct, 12 in Harris County District Court against Landry's G.P., and FSI Restaurant Development Limited alleging negligence.

Kiesel, according to her complaint, was at the defendants' Saltgrass Steakhouse on North IH 35 in Round Rock on June 29, 2021. She claims that as she was walking to her car, she suddenly slipped into an open hole in the parking lot and injured her knee, shoulder and hand. Kiesel alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to maintain their premises and for failing to safeguard invitees against unreasonably and unsafe conditions.

She further alleges the defendants did not reduce or eliminate the hazard and allowed the dangerous condition to exist and remain. Kiesel claims the defendants were also negligent for failing to warn of the danger and failing to train and supervise its employees who failed to locate, prevent and eliminate the dangerous condition. She also claims she suffered pain, disfigurement, impairment, lost wages and incurred medical expenses as a result of her fall.

Kiesel seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Kathryn Knotts and Zachary Smitherman of The Carlson Laws Firm PC in Bryan.
