HOUSTON - Two patent infringement lawsuits were filed against Google on Monday over the company’s Pixel and Nexus devices.
Both lawsuits were filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Waco Division.
The first suit was brought by Grus Tech, a Plano company.
The suit states that Google develops and sells devices running Android, including Pixel and Nexus devices that infringe on the following asserted patents:
- U.S. patent No. 10,353,552 entitled “Apparatuses and Methods for Identifying a Contactee for a Message;”
- U.S. patent No. 10,496,249 entitled “Apparatuses and Methods for Identifying a Contactee for a Message;”
- U.S. patent No. 10,754,505 entitled “Apparatuses and Methods for Identifying a Contactee for a Message;” and
- U.S. patent No. 11,086,487 entitled “Apparatuses and Methods for Identifying a Contactee for a Message.”
The second lawsuit was brought by American Inventor Tech, a Waco company, and asserts Google’s Pixel and Nexus Devices infringe on the following patents:
- U.S. patent No. 10,397,639 entitled “Hot Key Systems and Methods;”
- U.S. patent No. 10,547,895 entitled “Methods, Systems, and Computer Program Products For Controlling Play of Media Streams;” and
- U.S. patent No. 10,750,230 entitled “Hot Key Systems and Methods.”
Both Grus Tech and American Inventor Tech are being represented by the Austin law firm of Buss & Benefield.
