Frontier Communications claims utility crews damaged cables

GALVESTON — Frontier Communications is alleging underground utility crews caused damage to more than 200 pairs of its cables in League City. 

Frontier Communications filed a complaint March 21 in Galveston County District Court against Traffic Systems Construction and Underground Utility location and Damage Prevention doing business as USIC alleging negligence. 

Frontier alleges in its complaint that the defendant's workers caused $33,769.55 in damage to their property on Gulf Freeway South in League City on March 24, 2021. Specifically, Frontier claims that USIC employees damaged 200 pairs of copper cables while installing a sign. 

They also allege USIC failed to perform the proper search, locate and mark where equipment was in order to prevent property damage.  Frontier claims USIC failed to properly train and supervise their employees in the safe operation of its equipment. 

Frontier seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Lee Wickert of Matthiesen, Wickert &. Lehrer, S.C., in Austin.
