GALVESTON — A Galveston home owner is suing a roofing inspection company and roofing contractor after a roof leak caused damage to his property.

Christopher Patronella, M.D., filed a complaint June 6 in Galveston County District Court against Strategic Roofing Solutions, Carnes Engineering and Andres Munoz alleging fraud and other claims.

Patronella, according to his complaint, purchased a property on Marine Drive in Galveston on June 14, 2017. He alleges that a copy of the home inspection report was given to Munoz to correct any defects which included a new roof provided by Strategic with Carnes providing a Texas Windstorm Insurance Association Roof Inspection Certificate.

Patronella claims that after heavy rains and wind in Galveston in September of 2019, the roof leaked through a ceiling fan and near the fireplace. Patronella claims there were "persistent defects" with the roof and that the original inspector acting on behalf of Carnes Roofing, admitted to his spouse and a contractor that he had never been on the roof to inspect it. He alleges the defendants made false representations and failed to disclose material facts.

Patronella seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by George Oggero of The Oggero Law Firm in Houston.
