HOUSTON — A roofer alleges he suffered injuries due to his employer's negligence, including lack of proper training and supervision.

Noah Tidwell filed a complaint June 13 in Harris County District Court against Priority Contracting & Roofing Houston LLC alleging negligence.

According to his complaint, Tidwell worked for Priority at a job site on Holder Rambo Road in Huffman on Nov. 7, 2022. He alleges that he was instructed to rebuild one of the customer's porches and fix the rafters and purlins which were in an area that was worn out and damaged. Tidwell claims that as he was installing metal panels on the roof, he slipped and fell and attempted to grab one of the metal panels to stop his fall to the ground.

He further alleges he suffered severe damage to his hand and that he was working alone because a co-worker was sent to do other work. Tidwell alleges Priority's negligence for failing to furnish "safe instrumentalities," or provide proper instruction, training or supervision for its employees.

He also alleges he did not have proper safety equipment and that at the time of his accident, Priority was a non-subscriber to the Texas Workers Compensation Program and did not have insurance coverage.

Tidwell seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Daniel Horowitz, III of The Law Office of Daniel D. Horowitz, III PC in Houston.
