HOUSTON — A customer alleges she slipped on a floor where employees were mopping at Torchy Tacos in Stafford.

Brittnie James filed a complaint June 13 in Harris County District Court against Torchy Tacos, Success Foods Management Group LLC and The Travelers Indemnity Company alleging negligence.

According to her complaint, James was at the defendant's Torchy Tacos on Current Lane in Stafford on Dec. 2, 2022. She claims employees were mopping the floor while getting ready to close the store and that she slipped on a wet floor as she was walking towards the drink station and fell backwards.

James alleges the defendants did not have any visible wet floor signs in the area to warn of the hazard and that employees failed to exercise ordinary care and knew of the existence of the dangerous condition. She also alleges as a result of her fall, she suffered disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, lost earnings and incurred medical treatment expenses.

James seeks monetary relief of less than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Adam Criaco of Criaco & Samperi in Houston.
