GALVESTON — A tenant alleges he was attacked by a neighbor's Rottweiler and suffered injuries to his hand.

Samuel Hargrove filed a complaint June 29 in Galveston County District Court against Pablo Baez, Texas Excel Property Management Services Corporation, doing business as Creekside Apartments, and Creekside 2019 LLC, alleging negligence and liability.

Hargrove alleges in his complaint that he was leaving his apartment on Aug. 1, 2021, when he was attacked by Baez's Rottweiler and suffered injury to his hand. He claims Baez's negligence for failing to restrain and control his dog and failing to render aid or cease the attack within a reasonable amount of time.

Hargrove alleges the defendants knew or should have known of the vicious propensities of the dog and the extreme degree of risk and potential harm. He further alleges as a result of the attack, he suffered disfigurement, impairment and incurred medical care expenses.

Hargrove seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Attorney Kraig Rushing in Houston.
