A Galveston County, TX, man has filed suit against the owners and manager of his apartment complex, seeking past and future medical damages after he was injured in a fall at the complex.
John Glenn filed a complaint Aug. 8 in the 212th District Court of Galveston County in Texas against The Victorian Owners Association Inc. doing business as The Victorian Condominiums, The Victorian Condominiums, and Mark Rummel.
The suit alleges that on or about Aug. 14, 2021, the plaintiff “was exiting the community pool and was walking down the stairs when he could not clearly see the walkway and stumbled. As he stumbled, there was no handrailing to grab for support. As a result of the poor lighting and lack of handrails, he fell to the ground.”
As a result of the defendant’s negligent conduct, and because Glenn "was injured as a result of Defendant’s agents and employees’ acts or omissions" while on duty, the suit states, the plaintiff sustained substantial injuries and physical and economic damages.
The plaintiff requests damages for past and present medical care and expenses; physical pain and suffering; physical impairment; loss of earnings and earnings capacity; and mental anguish. He also seeks court costs, interest and any other just relief. The plaintiff is being represented by Dustin Brown of Stanley and Associates, PLLC in Plano, Texas.
