Three Harris County, TX, men are suing their former employers for at least $2 million in damages after sustaining chemical burns in an industrial accident on a job site.
Alejandro Sanchez, John Montalvo and Jorge Marquez filed a complaint Aug. 15 against A.D. Susman Associates, Inc., Bayou City Industrial Contractors LTD, and Bayou City Industries LLC. The suit was filed in the in the 55th District Court of Harris County, Texas.
In their filing, the plaintiffs claim they sustained chemical burns on Aug. 12, 2021 in an industrial accident. They allege the defendants
breached their duty to exercise ordinary care to provide reasonable safety against an unreasonable risk of harm.
The plaintiffs allege negligence and gross negligence in the complaint, saying that among other issues, the defendants did not warn the plaintiffs of the unreasonable risk of harm posted by the history of industrial accidents and unsafe working conditions; did not take adequate safety precautions; nor or adequately train employees.
The plaintiffs seek actual and exemplary damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court; interest; court costs; and all other just relief.
