HOUSTON – A Harris County woman has filed a lawsuit against Barry's Bootcamp Texas in Austin after an air conditioning unit allegedly fell on her head and neck, causing her serious injury.

Plaintiff Nhandi Hines filed the lawsuit in the Harris County District Court against Barry's Bootcamp Texas, LLC., citing negligence and premises liability.

According to the lawsuit, Nhandi was an invitee of Barry's Bootcamp in Austin on July 20, 2023. She claims that as she was walking on the premises, an air conditioning unit became dislodged from above the door and fell on her head and neck, knocking her down and causing her serious injury.

According to Nhandi, the defendant negligently failed to properly maintain and inspect the premises to protect the safety of visitors and failed to provide proper warning of the hazardous condition on the premises.

Nhandi alleges that she has sustained serious bodily injuries, which have caused her pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, and lost wages, and that her injuries will impact her ability to earn income. She adds that she has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover from her injuries.

The plaintiff is requesting a jury trial to seek judgment for damages plus interest, court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorneys Anthony G. Buzbee and Lionel Sims, III, of The Buzbee Law Form in Houston.
