Woman sues Walmart claiming she was struck by automatic door

HOUSTON - A woman is seeking up to $1 million in damages for injuries she allegedly received after an automatic door struck her. 

Alleging negligence, Emily Ortiz filed suit against Wal-Mart Stores Texas and E.E. Newcomer Enterprises on Jan. 12 in Harris County District Court. 

According to the lawsuit, on March 19, 2022, Ortiz was at a Walmart when she was struck by an automatic door and was seriously injured as a result. 

The suit does not give any more details on the incident. 

Ortiz seeks damages for her past and future pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, lost wages, disfigurement and impairment.
