In the District Court of Harris County, Texas, plaintiff James Hintz has filed a lawsuit against State Farm County Mutual Insurance Company of Texas. The case was filed under the cause number 2024-21627 on April 5, 2024.

The plaintiff, represented by an unidentified attorney, alleges that an underinsured driver struck his vehicle on July 3, 2022, causing serious bodily injuries and damages. As a result of the underinsured driver's negligence and lack of sufficient insurance coverage, Hintz was compelled to file a claim for underinsured motorist benefits under his State Farm policy. However, he contends that State Farm and its adjuster Sharla Vanderslice have unreasonably handled the investigation and negotiation of his claim.

Hintz is seeking judgment for breach of contract as he believes State Farm has failed to honor their contractual obligation to pay him for the damages incurred in the collision. He is also seeking a declaratory judgment pursuant to Tex. Civ. Pracse Rem Code Ch. 37 that he is entitled to recover from State Farm his damages resulting from the motor vehicle collision made the basis of this lawsuit.
