In a recent lawsuit filed in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Case ID: 2024-22241) on April 8, 2024, plaintiff Michelle Dubiski is suing defendants THC Development D/B/A The Hanover Company, HRO Property Owner LP, HRO Sub G.P. LLC, HRO JV LP, Hillwood Alliance Management L.P., and Hillwood Alliance GP LLC. The suit alleges negligence and gross negligence leading to physical injury sustained by Dubiski.

The plaintiff's attorney has detailed that on April 11, 2022, while moving into an apartment managed by the defendants in Houston, Texas, Dubiski was injured by a condition present on the glass shower door. The incident resulted in injuries to her foot including a severed artery.

The lawsuit argues that the defendants allowed Dubiski to move into a unit with a dangerous condition - a shower door lacking necessary safeguards to protect occupants from sharp edges of the glass. It asserts that any reasonable inspection would have revealed this hazard and that it should have been rectified before Dubiski moved in.

Dubiski is seeking judgment for damages caused by the alleged negligence and gross negligence of the defendants. She claims to have suffered severe physical and emotional injuries due to their failure to properly inspect and maintain the property, rectify reported hazards, warn residents about potential risks, train employees adequately or establish safety policies and procedures.
